Foundiougne, Sénégal / Ecosystem Approach and Climate Change Adaptation - Wetlands International builds the capacity of Foundiougne elect councilors

Funded by MFS II-Ecosystem Alliance program, in collaboration with its partners of the Foundiougne District Council (Central West Senegal), Wetlands International is organizing a capacity building workshop for local representatives of Foundiougne municipalities on issues related to Ecosystem approach and Climate Change Adaptation (EA and CCA). This training session will be held from 25th to 27th November 2015 in Foundiougne (Fatick region) and will be attended by a dozen of local officials.

It will also generate exchanges on the Mangrove Platform established by the Foundiougne District Council and Wetlands International over the last few months and share findings about the Study on the mapping of actors and interventions.

A field visit is to be carried in Dionewar to see firsthand display of the CC, coastal erosion. Another trip will take participants to Diamniadio to help them see the phenomenon of tannes / silting and degradation of mangrove related to the Ecosystem conservation Approach.

Capacity building will be provided by Yakhya Guéye of Wetlands International and Mamadou Touré Ndong of the Gossas District Council.
