First Training of Trainers on Ecosystem Based Climate change Adaptation

Nairobi, Kenya - Wetlands International is pleased to announce the first in a series of Training of Trainers on Ecosystem Based Climate change Adaptation, holding at AICAD, Jomo Kenyatta University, Juja, Nairobi Kenya, from the 3rd – 8th May, 2010. The course will be held in English with Simultaneous Interpretation in both English and French.

The course is co-organised with WWFUS, Conservation International, CPWCWageningen University, the African Institute of Capacity Development and a host of other contributing organisations. Participants to this course were invited on the basis of their potential to lead national training courses in their respective countries following this initial training of trainers.

 

Course focus

The role of this course is to emphasize ecosystem and community based climate change adaptation approaches, with the intent of equipping participants with the right tools and knowledge to address relevant issues on climate change from an ecosystem and community based perspective.

By relating theory to practice, this course will give understanding and skills to deal with climate change adaptation efforts, with support of trainers and resource persons. The course will focus on an interactive learning process by providing methods to apply and share knowledge.
